Fact Check
The Rumor Scanner team’s investigation reveals that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is not alive, and the video circulated with the said claim is not a message about him being alive. In reality, a video of Ali Khamenei’s address to the nation on February 12 on the occasion of celebrating the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran has been circulated with the discussed claim.
Investigating this matter, a video similar to the discussed video, published on February 12, was found on an Instagram account named ‘khamenei_video’.

From the caption of the video, it is known that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei thanked the Iranian nation for their participatory action on 12th Bahman (February 11) on the occasion of celebrating the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. In a television message on the evening of February 12, he called the massive gathering of millions of people on 12th Bahman (February 11) a source of pride, an increase in the strength and dignity of the Islamic Republic, and a cause of despair for the enemies of the Iranian nation. He thanked everyone who participated in this great movement and urged everyone to maintain valuable national unity. In that video, Ali Khamenei did not say anything regarding the claim of being alive.
Subsequently, the same information is known from reports published in multiple media outlets of Iran and other countries (1, 2, 3, 4).
It is worth noting that Iranian state television confirmed that the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the attack by the United States and Israel. Regarding this, the statement of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council was broadcast on various state televisions on March 1). Iran’s official news agency IRNA (Islamic Republic News Agency) confirmed the news of the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the morning of March 1.
Therefore, the claim that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is alive is false.
