Fact-check

Rumor Scanner’s investigation found that the claim of 41 Bangladesh Army members being rescued by the Pakistan Army is incorrect; rather, this fake claim has been circulated without any evidence.

At the beginning of the investigation, a review of the viral posts showed that the “Pak Army Page” and “BBC” were cited as sources for the claim. However, no such news was found on the Pakistan Army’s Facebook page or on the British media outlet BBC.

Furthermore, no reports regarding the rescue of 41 Bangladeshi soldiers by Pakistan were found in any mainstream local or international news media.

Regarding this matter, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) informed Rumor Scanner that the information is a complete rumor.

Additionally, in a post published on the Facebook page of the Inter-Services Public Relations on December 14, the claim of 41 Bangladeshi soldiers being rescued by the Pakistan Army was officially declared fake.

Moreover, on Monday (December 15), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan issued a statement strongly condemning the brutal attack on UN peacekeepers in Sudan. However, in that statement, they did not claim to have rescued 41 Bangladeshi soldiers anywhere.

Therefore, the claim that 41 members of the Bangladesh Army were rescued with the help of the Pakistan Army is completely false.
