Fact Check: Multiple Fake Claims About Trump and His Daughter Linked to Epstein

Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy American investor and convicted sex offender. Utilizing high-level connections built with influential people, he was involved in the sexual abuse and trafficking of teenage girls. In 2019, he was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges in the United States. However, before the judicial process could begin, his hanging body was recovered from a New York jail. Epstein’s death sparked widespread global debate and various conspiracy theories about whether it was suicide or homicide. Later, the US Department of Justice officially stated that Epstein committed suicide. Epstein-related documents had been released in limited scope at various times before. However, under the ‘Epstein Files Transparency Act’ in 2026, the US Department of Justice released the largest scope of documents to date. It includes nearly 3.5 million pages of documents, over two thousand videos, and nearly one hundred eighty thousand photos.

This massive collection of data related to Epstein is known as the ‘Epstein Files’. After the release of these documents, discussion and criticism began worldwide. Centering the Epstein Files, a photo of US President Donald Trump holding a child’s hand is being circulated on social media with the claim – Trump has no relationship with this child in this photo and it is a photo from Jeffrey Epstein’s island.

Additionally, attaching the same photo, it is being claimed – the female child in the photo is not Donald Trump’s daughter, the girl with Trump is an Afghan teenager whom Trump brought after the fall of the Taliban government in 2001 and raped. And Trump’s own daughter Ivanka Trump assisted in this act.

Fact Check

The Rumor Scanner team’s investigation reveals that the photo of Trump holding the female child’s hand was not taken on Jeffrey Epstein’s island, and the claim that Trump has no relation with this female child is also not correct. Furthermore, the girl in the photo is not an Afghan teenager. In reality, the female child whose hand Donald Trump is holding is Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, and the photo was taken at the ‘Look of the Year 1991’ event held at the Plaza Hotel in New York in 1991.

Initially, Rumor Scanner investigated the woman in the discussed photo, where the photo was taken, and the relationship of the child with Trump. During the investigation, a photo uploaded in 2006 was found on the website of the photo archive company Alamy. The discussed photo matches exactly with that photo.

Alamy wrote regarding the photo that the female child with Donald Trump is Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump. The photo was taken at the ‘Look of the Year 1991’ event held at the Plaza Hotel in New York in 1991.

Multiple international media outlets including Getty Images, Imago, Daily Mail, and The Sun have also published the photo with the same information.

That is, Trump’s relationship with the girl is father-daughter and it is a photo taken at the Plaza Hotel in New York.

Subsequently, Rumor Scanner investigated the second claim, i.e., the female child is not Trump’s daughter but rather a teenager brought by Trump after the fall of the Taliban government in 2001. Initially, it is seen that the female child in the photo being circulated with the said claim is Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump. Which has already been verified by Rumor Scanner.

From Ivanka Trump’s biography on the Britannica website, it is known that Ivanka Trump was born on October 30, 1981, to New York businessman Donald Trump’s first wife Ivana Trump (divorced in 1992). The international media outlet BBC has also published the same information.

That is, Ivanka Trump is not an Afghan teenager.

Additionally, searching with relevant keywords, no information was found in favor of the discussed claim.

Therefore, a 1991 photo of Donald Trump with his daughter Ivanka Trump is being circulated with the claim that it is a photo from Jeffrey Epstein’s island and Trump has no relationship with the child and the child is an Afghan teenager; which is completely false.
