Old video of a fire in Dubai circulated claiming to be a scene of an Iranian attack on an Israeli cafe

On February 28, the United States and Israel carried out missile attacks in various places in Iran, including the capital Tehran. Fact Check

The Rumor Scanner team’s investigation reveals that the circulated video is not related to any Iranian attack on an Israeli café. In fact, a video of a fire caused by a gas leak at a restaurant in Dubai last year has been circulated with the claim.

While investigating the matter, a video published on May 13 last year was found on an Instagram account named “adeelrajpoot47.” The video circulated with the claim matches this video.

From the caption of the video, it is known that this footage shows a fire at the Pearl View Cafeteria in Al Barsha, Dubai.

Based on the name “Pearl View Cafeteria” seen in the video and the surrounding buildings and infrastructure, it can be confirmed through location verification that this is the Pearl View Cafeteria in the Al Barsha area of Dubai.

Investigating further on this matter, it is known from a report published on May 14 last year on the website of the UAE media outlet ‘Gulf Today’ that a restaurant in Al Barsha, Dubai, was burned to ashes in a fire. Quoting the authorities, it was stated that members of the Dubai Civil Defense were able to control the fire caused by a gas leak in a restaurant in the Al Barsha area in record time.

At that time, other media outlets also published news (1, 2, 3, 5) regarding this incident.

Therefore, a video of a fire caused by a gas leak at a restaurant in Dubai last year has been circulated claiming to be a scene of an Iranian attack on an Israeli cafe; which is false.
