Fact Check

The Rumor Scanner team’s investigation reveals that the circulated video is not of the recent ongoing Iran-Israel conflict; rather, the video has existed on the internet since 2019.

Investigating this matter, a video published on September 3, 2019, was found on a YouTube channel named ‘johnny Asv’. The 25-second long video matches the scenes of the video circulated with the discussed claim.

However, no detailed information was found mentioned in the description of the video.

Subsequently, following the source of that information, a report published on October 12, 2023, was found on the defense news and analysis website ‘The War Zone’. From the detailed description of the said report attaching the same video, it is known that these are Chinese-made Katyusha rockets in Hezbollah’s arsenal, which are 122 mm caliber and capable of carrying cluster munition warheads.

That is, it can be said with certainty that the circulated video is not of the recent ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.

Therefore, a video existing on the internet since 2019 has been circulated with the claim of the recent ongoing Iran-Israel conflict; which is false.
