On December 18, 2025, Dipu Chandra Das, a worker at Pioneers Knitwears (BD) Limited in Mymensingh, was beaten to death after being accused of making derogatory remarks about the Prophet Muhammad (SM). At one point, his body was stripped, hung from a tree on a divider of the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, and set on fire. In this context, a video showing a person being detained by police has been circulated with the claim that it is Dipu Das’s last video.

Fact-check
Rumor Scanner’s investigation reveals that Dipu Das has no connection to the circulated video. In reality, it is an old video from last November showing a student from Dhaka College being detained by police in Dhaka following a verdict related to Sheikh Hasina.
During the investigation, a video published on the Facebook page of the mainstream media outlet Bhorer Kagoj on November 18 was found to match the individual in the viral video. According to the caption, the person being detained by police is a student of Dhaka College.

Upon reviewing the video, the student can be heard saying, “Brother, I am from Dhaka College.” He is seen wearing a jersey with the Dhaka College logo and the “Session 2022-23” printed on the front, with the name “Momin” on the back.

The video also features Masud Alam, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). According to a report by Kalbela dated November 18, an attempt was made to vandalize Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s house at Dhanmondi 32 on November 17. On that day, tensions rose at Dhanmondi 32 following the verdict of the International Crimes Tribunal sentencing Sheikh Hasina to death for crimes against humanity. Protesters engaged in chases with the police throughout the day, blocking Mirpur Road until 9:00 PM.
Using the Mirpur Road reference, the same location was identified on Google Maps, where the same colored bus seen in the viral video was spotted. It is a Thikana transport bus, which operates as a town service within Dhaka.
This confirms that the video is from Dhaka and pertains to an old and unrelated incident.
Therefore, a video of a different individual is being circulated as Dipu Das’s last video before death; the claim is false.
