Following the 1971 Independence War, the first cargo ship arrived directly from Pakistan to Bangladesh on November 13, 2024. As of September this year, a total of 4 such cargo container ships have arrived in Bangladesh. A video has been circulated on the social media platform Facebook claiming that along with raw materials, gun bullets were also imported into the country in these containers from Pakistan. The video shows an individual taking gun bullets out of a box. Rumor Scanner has observed such information and videos regarding Bangladesh-Pakistan maritime trade circulating since last September.

Fact-check
Rumor Scanner’s investigation found no evidence of gun bullets being imported along with raw materials in container ships from Pakistan. Furthermore, the circulated video is not related to the claim. In reality, a video of gun bullets being unboxed from a Pakistani gun shop’s YouTube channel has been used to spread this claim.
During the investigation into the claim, no information was found in the media or any reliable source regarding the arrival of firearms or bullets in the container ships from Pakistan to date.
Subsequently, an investigation into the viral video led to a YouTube channel named ‘Barki Armoury International’. Upon reviewing the channel, the original video published on November 6, 2024, was found. However, an analysis of the video revealed that the footage used in the claim was created by mirroring the original video.
Further review of the ‘Barki Armoury International’ YouTube channel shows that it belongs to a Pakistani gun shop of the same name, where they regularly post videos of various types of guns and ammunition.
Therefore, an unboxing video from a Pakistani gun shop is being circulated with the claim that gun bullets were imported into the country via container ships from Pakistan; the claim is completely false.
