Fact-Check

An investigation by the Rumor Scanner team has revealed that the circulated video does not show an Israeli pilot being beaten by the Iranian public. In reality, it is footage of a protest and counter-protest that occurred in front of Minneapolis City Hall in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, on January 17.

During the investigation, a video published on January 18 on the Instagram account of US journalist Stephanie Keith was discovered, which visually matches the video in question. In that post, she noted that right-wing influencer Jake Lang was kicked in the head while trying to leave a small protest he had organized at Minneapolis City Hall.

Following this lead, a report published on The Guardian’s website on January 18 was found. The image featured in that report also matches the scenes from the discussed video.

According to this report, on January 17, right-wing influencer Jake Lang organized a small protest outside Minneapolis City Hall in support of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown. However, hundreds of counter-protesters gathered at the location and chased his group away. The report also mentions that Lang suffered a head injury while fleeing the scene.
