Fact Check
The Rumor Scanner Team’s investigation found that the circulated photo is not from Bangladesh. In fact, a photo of a building damaged in the earthquake that occurred in the Caribbean country of Haiti in 2021 has been circulated with this claim.
In the course of this investigation, a report published on August 14, 2021, on the website of the British media outlet The Guardian was found. The video accompanying the report is similar to the photo circulated with the claim. The report states that this is an image of a building that collapsed during the devastating $7.2$ magnitude earthquake that occurred in Haiti in 2021.

Further investigation into this matter found a report published on August 15, 2021, on the website of the Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera, titled ‘More than 300 dead after magnitude 7.2 earthquake strikes Haiti’. This report, which uses the same building photo, mentions that the earthquake occurred in southwestern Haiti. It was reported that the powerful $7.2$ magnitude earthquake killed at least 304 people and injured 1,800.
In addition, the same information is mentioned in another report published on August 16, 2021, on the website of the Indian media outlet ‘India Today’, which uses the same photo.
This confirms that the circulated photo of the collapsed building is definitely not a scene of a building damaged in North Badda due to the recent earthquake in Bangladesh.
Therefore, the photo of a building damaged in the 2021 Haiti earthquake has been circulated as a scene of a building damaged in North Badda due to the recent earthquake in Bangladesh; which is completely false.
